Last month in March I was able to get 1st place in the Scottish Developmental Contest-by the Scottish textile mills.
I showed my winning garment down the "Dress to Kilt" fashion show hosted by Sir Sean Connery to kick start Scottish week in NYC.
A follow-up interview is now being scheduled with the journalist for probably and most likely May 11th.
Very Excited at the moment.
Things are coming into place :)

FIT's BFA fashion show MONDAY (4/26)
Watch it LIVE at 7:30 pm eastern via webcast
one of my looks will be going down the runway!
it is a black cotton "straight jacket" blouse (with cotton tulle overlay) + black legging-pant (white striped inseam). pay close attention <3
Yesterday i had an interview with a journalist from New York Seikatsu Press (local japanese newspaper). Spoke about my past experiences in my 4 years of schooling at FIT(fashion institute of technology). In addition to that, it was about my background and why i had chosen this field as my career and my current inspiration. The journalist will also be attending the graduating class' fashion show on monday, so the article will most likely be printed for the following week (week of may 2nd because it is a weekly paper). Once it s printed and i get hold of a copy, i will be sure to scan and post it.
SO YES! the show is on monday (april 26th). I will take photos and video of my look down the runway ^^ very excited to watch my clothing come to life. My fashion design mentor, Kyoko Baker will also be there to watch the show with me. She has not seen the pieces i have made for the show so i am very nervous of her reaction, and hopefully an approval.

Fitting went very well. turns out her shoe size is not a 6.5 and she is a size 8 instead. they gave out the wrong information. horrible. now i must go exchange the shoes to the right size before the show. Other than that complication, the fitting was perfect. The pant fit perfect, the shirt fit perfect. no alterations needed :) unfortunately there was no time for me to take a photo of my model. sorry. but she looked great ! as if she hopped out of one of tim burton's animations. a small thin jaw and buggy eyes with big eyelids. loved her ::hearts::

meeting my model tomorrow in the morning at 10 .. but they say i'm supposed to show up at 9am. Her shoe size is 6.5(us.womens) .. i hope she's not too petite. if she is too small i will have to fix the garment quite a lot (b/c they are tight fitting pants). at least the top is not a problem if she ends up being too small. I went to go look for shoes friday and sunday morning, this past weekend, to 9 different stores. Did not have too much luck finding shoes. the producer wants high heels. i ended up picking up a pair of platforms from michael kors. i thought the shoes had a "goth-loli" feel to them. i hope it looks fine with the outfit. we'll all see by tomorrow morning. i will be sure to take a picture of her in my outfit.
good night. i must get up at 7am.
